The Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) is slated to host its ninth Annual Clinical and Scientific Conference on Sunday, October 23, 2016 starting at 7:30 a.m. at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston. The conference is being held under the theme “The Kingston Public Hospital, Celebrating 240 Years of Excellence, A Legacy of Healing the Nation”, in recognition of the hospital’s 240th anniversary, which is being celebrated this year.
Public institutional medicine was first established in Jamaica with the opening of the KPH on December 14, 1776. This year’s conference is aimed at highlighting the diverse levels of research and health care services provided at KPH. The special guest speaker will be Dr. Delroy Jefferson, Medical Director of the Cayman Islands Health Services Authority, Consultant Anaesthesiologist and Intensive Care Specialist and Doctor of Business Administration and Management/Medical Tourism.
