SERHA’s Regional Director, Ms. Maureen Golding and Mr. Anthony Wood, Chief Executive Officer of the Bustamante Hospital for Children, visited the University of Minnesota and other health facilities in Minnesota in the United States from August 22 to August 27, 2017. The trip was organized by the Organization for Strategic Development in Jamaica (OSDJ).

The purpose of the visit was to meet with stakeholders that will foster the development of a support network between SERHA and institutions in Minnesota, namely the University of Minnesota, Hennepin County Medical Center, Children's Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota, Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare and Mayo Clinic.

This support network will assist with research, training and infrastructure improvement within some of SERHA’s health facilities, including the Bustamante Hospital for Children, especially as it relates to treatment of children with cancer and cerebral palsy, among others.
