Minister of Health, Dr. the Honourable Christopher Tufton officially commissioned two new elevators into service at the National Chest Hospital (NCH) on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.
Dr. Tufton, in his remarks at the commissioning ceremony, hailed Mr. Everton Anderson, chief executive officer (CEO) and his team from National Health Fund (NHF) for the work that they continue to do in the Ministry of Health.
The NHF has provided funding to upgrade and modernize six elevators and five hospitals. In total, five elevators have been completed and now in service at the Kingston Public Hospital, National Chest Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital. The Victoria Jubilee Hospital and the Spanish Town Hospital are also being upgraded.
Ms. Jacqueline Ellis, Liguanea Regional Hospital, CEO said she is very happy that the National Chest Hospital is now equipped with a more reliable elevator system, which will significantly impact the quality of care the hospital is able to provide to patients.
