New Drug Serv Pharmacy Opened at the Linstead Public Hospital

Minister of Health, Dr. the Hon. Christopher Tufton officially opened the new Drug Serv Pharmacy at the Linstead Public Hospital in St. Catherine on Thursday, December 13, 2018. The construction project was funded by  the National Health Fund (NHF)  at a cost of $31 Million.

During the opening ceremony, Dr. Tufton said that the pharmacy  is expected to reduce the average waiting time for the dispensing of drugs to the hundreds of thousands of people who reside in and around St. Catherine.

Mr. Everton Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of the NHF, in his remarks, commended the team for completing the project within specification and budget before Christmas.

The Linstead Public Hospital's Accident and Emergency Department  has been  expanded and renovated  in February 2018  at an estimated cost of  $144 Million through funding from NHF.

The Linstead Public Hospital is a Type C facility with 50 beds. It offers a wide range of health care services including accident and emergency care, medical care, minor surgery, mental health, pharmacy, out-patient clinic, ambulance and obstetrics.
