SERHA Urges the Public to be Vigilant Against Influenza Virus and Vector Borne illnesses

The public is being urged to be vigilant in taking the necessary precaution to prevent the Influenza Virus and vector borne illnesses such as Dengue Fever, Chikungunya and the Zika Virus.

“We continue to urge persons to take steps to protect themselves from these illnesses. The symptoms for these viruses are similar and so I am encourage person who experience flu-like illnesses especially with respiratory symptoms to visit their doctor or the nearest health centre for early medical intervention,” Dr. Andrei Cooke, Board Chairman, South East Regional Health Authority said. “Pregnant women and persons with chronic illnesses should seek medical attention immediately”.
