The Olympic Gardens Health Centre has been officially adopted by Ms. Ann-Murray Brown under the Ministry of Health & Wellness’s Adopt-A-Clinic programme. The symbolic adoption ceremony was held on Monday, August 12, 2019.
Ms. Brown who is a member of the Diaspora residing in Holland has committed $3 million to the centre as part of a three-year partnership under the project.
Health & Wellness Minister, Dr. the Hon.Christopher Tufton, said in his remarks that this is the first individual adoption and it is highly commendable.
Speaking during the ceremony, Ms. Brown said that adopting the facility is part of her responsibility, for reasons which include her growing up in the community and learning from her mother’s gracious giving to others. Ms. Brown encouraged others to adopt a clinic and to get involve in volunteerism.
Ms. Maureen Golding, Regional Director, SERHA thanked the adopter for her commitment to Olympic Gardens and look forward to continued partnership.
Olympic Gardens Health Centre is among the estimated ten health centres that have been formally adopted.
