Caribbean Heart Menders Association Donates Six Suction Machines to BHC

The Bustamante Hospital for Children (BHC) received six portable suction machines on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from charitable organization Caribbean Heart Menders Association. The total cost for the machines  which are valued at over US$4300 will be used to clear children's' airway.                   Ms. Carlene Nugent (left), President, Caribbean Heart Menders Association demonstrates the use of the attachments for the machine to (second left) Mrs. Maureen Golding, Regional Director, SERHA; Mrs. Camile Wallen-Panton, CEO, BHC; Mrs. Beverley Senior Berry, Director of Nursing Services, BHC and Mr. Anthony Wood,Parish Manager, Kingston and St. Andrew Health Services.

For the past 25 years, the Caribbean Heart Menders Association has been supporting the Cardiac Heart Programme at BHC. Ms. Carlene Nugent, President, Caribbean Heart Menders said that the association is the first organization to plan and coordinate teams of medical professions that offered cardiac surgeries and cardiac intervention to children who suffered from congenital heart diseases.
