KPH Receives $1 Million from Jamaica Medical Foundation

The Urology Department at the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) received a cheque valued at $1 million on Wednesday, (August 12, 2020) from the Jamaica Medical Foundation (JMF). The money will be used to purchase much needed equipment to enhance the urology services at the KPH. Cedric McDonald (second left), Chairman of the JMF’s fundraising committee, presents the symbolic cheque representing the $1 million raised from a successful wine, fashion and art fundraising event to Dr. Reaud Iqbaul Gafoor (second right), Head of Urology Department at KPH. Sharing in the handover are Dr. the Hon. Oliver E. Jones (left), Chairman, JMF and Dr. Natalie Whylie (right), Senior Medical Officer, KPH. Dr. Gafoor extends profound appreciation to the foundation for the generous donation to the Urology Department that will improve the team's ability to perform more life-saving procedures like hemorrhages from urinary tract, prostate and bladder cancers.
