Jamaica Received First COVID-19 Field Hospital

US Ambassador to Jamaica (second right), Donald Tapia, cuts ribbon to officially handed over a field hospital, valued at approximately J$105 million to the government and people of Jamaica on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the National Chest Hospital. In addition to the hospital, the medical team gained technical knowledge during training sessions and the set-up of the facility. The donation forms part of the Southern Command assistance to the nations in the Caribbean, Central America and South America. During the function, Minister of Health and Wellness, MP, thanked the U.S. Government for the timely donation that will continue to double the efforts made by the Government of Jamaica to combat COVID-19.
