More Medical Equipment and Supplies for KPH & VJH from AFJ

The Kingston Public and Victoria Jubilee Hospitals officially received additional medial equipment and supplies from the American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ) during a ceremony on Friday, January 15, 2021. The donations include themometers probe cover, oxygen masks, compressor nebulizers, corrugated tubing, drainage kit and other items.

In her remarks at the ceremony, Executive Director, Ms. Caron Chung at the American Friends of Jamaica, said that the organization welcomed the opportunity to assist the hospital by providing much needed equipment especially during this pandemic.

Director of Nursing Services of the Victoria Jubilee Hospital, Mrs. Elise Fairweather-Blackwood expressed profound gratitude to the donor for its continued support, while stressing the benefits that the items will have on the patients and staff. She added that the organization has donated $2 million worth of equipment and accessories to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) last year.

The institutions continue to be regarded as one in which sophisticated surgery is practised on several scales and, remains a significant contributor in Jamaica.
