Kingston, Jamaica. Tuesday, January 7, 2025: The management of the Bustamante Hospital for Children (BHC) has been made aware of videos circulating on social media that allege medical negligence in the care provided to a four-year-old patient who was previously treated at the institution.
In response to these allegations, BHC has promptly launched an internal investigation to review the circumstances surrounding the case. The hospital has already made contact with the family involved, offering guidance on the matter. The family has been encouraged to submit a formal written complaint to facilitate a meeting with the relevant hospital teams to address their concerns directly.
The hospital is committed to ensuring the highest standards of care and patient safety while
taking all concerns seriously. BHC will continue to work closely with the family and relevant
authorities to resolve this matter in a transparent and timely manner.
We remain dedicated to providing quality healthcare services to all children in need and will
ensure that any findings from this investigation are addressed appropriately.
The BHC is one of the specialists’ hospitals under the management of the South East Regional Health Authority and is the leading paediatric healthcare facility in Jamaica. Our Management Team at BHC is committed to providing exceptional medical care to children across the island of Jamaica and by extension the Caribbean region.
