The Human Resource Management Association of Jamaica celebrates Human Resource Management Week from October 2 – 7, 2022 under the theme “Stepping Up, Igniting Greatness”.
On behalf of the Board and management of the South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA), it is my honour to acknowledge and recognize the tremendous work of our Human Resource Practitioners across the Region. Your tenacity in championing the welfare of our staff have helped to ensure that we continue to provide high standards of care to our clients even in these turbulent times. By continually 'stepping up' to the challenge, you have nurtured our ability to 'foster greatness' in our staff.
The work of a Human Resource Practitioner never ends. From ensuring adherence to standards and regulations of an organization, to facilitation of ongoing training and improved access to opportunities and benefits for staff, you consistently promote change through enhanced staff welfare and camaraderie. To be successful in ensuring quality to our external clients, we must first ensure that the highest standard of care is given to our internal clients, our staff.
As we all continue to work through these unprecedented times, it is important to remember what you have accomplished and what you are expected to do in the midst of new challenges. By embracing new strategies and methodologies, it is my hope that you continue to be advocates for positive change while continuing to advocate for staff and their welfare. As an important bridge 'between management and staff', we will continue to be heavily reliant on you, our Human Resource team, to ensure that the talents of staff members are enhanced so that the SERHA will continue to be the Region of choice to work and receive health care.
Happy Human Resources Professional Week and thank you all for your dedicated service.
