Jamaica Moves in School Virtual Tour

The Ministry of Health and Wellness in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Youth, Associations for Principals and Vice Principals of Secondary, Primary and Infant schools seek to host a virtual Jamaica Moves in School termly tour across the four Regional Health Authorities. It will commence with a low impact 30-minute cardio session to be hosted at the first host school, The Queen's School and streamed via zoom, YouTube and Facebook. The remaining legs of the tour in addition to physical activity, will incorporate the healthy eating component of the Jamaica Moves in School Programme.

The target audience will be primary, infant and high schools across the island. The start of the tour will be signaled by a media launch with representation from the Associations of Principals and Vice Principals of Secondary Schools, The Jamaica Association of Principals in Infant and Primary Schools, The Ministry of Health and Wellness and The Ministry of Education Youth and Information.

The first event of the tour is scheduled to take place on the 28th January 2022 and will be facilitated by a fitness instructor in collaboration with the Physical Activity Specialists and the JMIS coordinator. The other dates are scheduled for the 29th of April (National School Moves Day) and the 27th of May, 2022.
