Kingston Public Hospital Reports on Tragic Death of 75-Year-Old Male Patient

Kingston, Jamaica. The management of the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) regrets to inform the public of the tragic passing of a 75-year-old male patient who had been admitted to the hospital. It was reported that the patient fell from the third floor of the building where his ward was located. This incident took place on Saturday, January 18, 2025.
Immediately following the incident, the hospital staff promptly responded. The patient was
taken to the Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department, where resuscitation efforts were
made but, unfortunately, were unsuccessful. The hospital has reached out to the patient’s
relatives to inform them of his passing and is offering counselling services to the family during this difficult time.
The management team at KPH extends heartfelt condolences to the family and is committed to providing any additional support required. A comprehensive investigation into the circumstances of this incident is currently underway, with updates to be shared with the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Board of the South East Regional Health Authority. Additionally, the matter has been reported to the police, who are conducting their own independent investigation.
